- Bajrang won Silver medal at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships and also claimed World No. 1 ranking in 65 kg category.

Punia was born on 26 February 1994 in Khudan village of Jhajjar district of Haryana. Bajrang began wrestling at the age of seven and was encouraged by his father to take up the sport as the profession.
In 2015, the whole family moved to Sonepat district so that Bajrang can attend a regional centre of Sports Authority of India.
Currently, Bajrang works in Indian Railways as a Gazetted officer OSD Sports.
