Virat Kohli becomes the fastest to score 2000 T20I runs

Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 2000 runs in Twenty20 Internationals.
Kohli achieved the feat in the first T20I against England at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The 29-year old also became the first Indian batsman to cross the 2000-runs mark in the shortest format.
Kohli took 56 innings to break Brendon McCullum’s record. The former New Zealand skipper took 66 innings to cross the 2000 runs barrier.

Virat Kohli now sits on the fourth spot in the list of most runs in T20Is behind New Zealand’s Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik.
Guptil’s crossed 2000 runs mark in 68 innings while Malik took 92 runs to reach the milestone.
Rohit Sharma, Indian opener is also just 19 runs shy of completing 2000 runs in Twenty20 cricket.
India got off to a winning start in the first match against England as they defeated the hosts by 8 wickets.
KL Rahul smashed a century (101 off 54 balls) while Virat was beaten at 20* off 22 balls.
