Career Turning Point: Varun Chakravarthy began his cricket career as a wicket-keeper aged just 13. By the time he turned 17, he lost his interest in Cricket and took up Architecture. After working for two years as an architect, Varun decided it was time to return to Cricket. He returned to cricket as a fast bowler, but had his knee broken and had to stay out for over 6 months. This time he returned as a spinner with seven variations under his sleeve. The biggest turning point of his career though came in 2018, when he joined Siachem Madurai Panthers in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. He picked up nine wickets from ten matches with a dot percentage of over 50%. He followed that up with a successful stint in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19 for Tamil Nadu, picking up 22 wickets in just nine games.
