Vaibhav Arora is an Indian cricketer who plays for Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket. Born on 14 December 1997, the right-arm fast-medium is one of the rising talents since his arrival into the domestic side.

He made his First Class debut against Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy 2019-20. The pacer then debuted in the T20s in a match against Chhattisgarh in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21, which was followed by his arrival into List A during Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21, where he picked a hat-trick against Maharashtra and became the first-ever player to register such a rare feat on debut.

Though Vaibhav’s team lost to Maharashtra, his figures of 4/45, which comprised the wickets of Naushad Shaikh, Nikhil Naik, Ankit Bawne and Mukesh Choudhary, carved him a name in the domestic circuits as a player to keep an eye upon in the future.

Vaibhav had a dream run in his maiden edition of Ranji Trophy in 2019-20, where he finished as the highest wicket-taker for Himachal Pradesh with 29 scalps across 8 matches while averaging a mere 18.58.  He then carried his form into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21, where he shone again by turning up the joint highest wicket-taker for Himachal Pradesh, with 10 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 11.50. Not just the T20s, the right-arm quick then excelled in the List A as well, where he finished with an economy of 5.16 while picking up 8 wickets at an average of 24.62. In spite of a mediocre show in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021-22, he managed to impress the owners in the IPL 2022 auctions, where he was contracted by the Punjab Kings.

His consistent exploits in the domestic circuits got him a contract of 20 lakhs with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021, however, he didn’t receive any opportunity to showcase his prowess. Yet, owing to his reputation and competence as a bowler, he was involved in a bidding war in the IPL 2022 auction between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, where he was eventually contracted by Punjab for a price of 2 crores. In IPL 2024, he is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. A player of his caliber, who can literally wreak havoc with the new ball, can do wonders in the upcoming seasons.
