Early Career
In December 2016, he was named in South Africa’s Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka to make International debut.
He made his debut in Test series in July 2017, where he scored 49 runs. He was dropped from all the matches and again called as a replacement for Vernon Philander who suffered back spasm in the final test.
He scored his first century with 101 as the highest 4th innings score by a South African in Asia against Sri Lanka.
