Controversy
- In June 2017, when Pakistan won the last match of Champions Trophy against Sri Lanka and made it to the semifinals, Sarfaraz was imposed a fine of 20% of the match fees by the Panel of ICC Match Referees when they found out that Pakistan was over short when time allowances were taken into consideration.
