Samit Dravid has always been seen in the stands cheering for his father during Rahul Dravid since his IPL days.

Many of the cricketers were also left surprised by the enthusiasm that junior Dravid possessed during his early teenage years. Unlike Arjun Tendulkar, Samit has not enjoyed much of the media attention till now and that may work in his favor as he continues to build upon the legacy of his father.

In one of his books ‘The Sports Gene: Inside the Science of Extraordinary Athletic Performance’, David Epstein wrote about how parents are important in raising the bar for any sportsperson. And if your father happens to be Rahul Dravid then, it is imperative that the world expects big things from you. And if that wasn’t enough Samit Dravid decided to pursue a career in professional sports just like his father. And just like his father, Samit Dravid is making a name for himself in junior cricket.

Samit Dravid grabbed the eyeballs in December 2019 as he slammed a 250-ball 201 in Karnataka State inter-zonal tournament for U-14s. He was captaining Vice-President’s XI against Dharwad Zone at Kolkata. His innings consisted of 22 boundaries while he also contributed an unbeaten 94 in the second innings and took 3 wickets as well.

In 2015, while playing for his school Mallya Aditi International, Samit scored three half-centuries in match-clinching efforts for his side at U-12 level. After three years in 2018, this teenage sensation put on an exhibition with a flamboyant 150 against Vivekananda School in KSCA’s BTR Cup Under-14 tournament match.
