“My first double century against Australia has to be my favorite innings, it was very special, my second double hundred, 264 against Sri Lanka is also a special inning for me, the third double century came on the day on my marriage anniversary, so all three innings are very special for me”.
In the video, he also talked about his approach while opening the innings alongside Shikhar Dhawan. He said the left-hander makes his task easier while seeing off the new ball. He is happy to play the second role when Dhawan is on fire and feels his task starts once the middle-overs are in play.
Notably, Rohit Sharma is the only batsmen in the world to have scored three double centuries in ODIs. He also has the highest individual score of 264 runs in ODI cricket to his name which came against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Rohit is out of action since February
The nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 23rd, however, the star opener has not been in action since February. He last donned the Indian jersey in the 5th and final T20I against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui where he pulled a hamstring and had to miss the ODI and Test series.
With the lockdown coming as a disguise, he was not able to get back onto the field and his training is also due. However, Rohit Sharma is looking ahead to join the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to get in shape for the upcoming events once things are settled.
