- On his first tour of England in 1986, Lamba was involved in a rare incident where 12 fielders were on the field for a full over.
- In a Duleep Trophy match at Jamshedpur in 1990-91, Lamba was involved in a heated exchange with West Zone cricketer Rashid Patel. He was handed a ban for eight months by the BCCI.
