Rachael Haynes – Australia Women Cricketer
Rachael Haynes started bowling at the door of her dog’s kennel in the family’s backyard. She mainly played against boys and later moved to Box Hill Cricket Club to take part in the women’s competition. Originally from Melbourne, She started her carrier with North Balwyn Cricket Club playing Under 12 cricket against boys teams. she was then selected for Victoria’s team for the Under-17 interstate tournament on March 2001 at the age of 14 years. Initially, Rachael did not achieve much success in her maiden season and scored 31 runs in four innings.
Haynes produced her WNCL debut for Victoria as a 19-year-old in the 2005/06 season after representing Victoria in the interstate U 17 and U 19 tournaments. Haynes saw two twenties recording the following year and her side-Victoria-ended in 2006-07 as runners-up. It was when the leadership characteristics of Haynes were first noted in 2008. The left batswoman led her team-Australian Youth Team-to wins over England and Australia’s senior teams.

Awards and recognitions
In 2009 she was chosen for England tour. Haynes moved South in 2011-12 and joined the Lendlease Breakers. At the 2013 World Cup in India, she was Australia’s leading run-scorer. Haynes was promoted to vice-captain of the Breakers and played a key role in the team winning both the WNCL and the WT20 in the 2014-15 season. In 2018 Haynes was vice-captain of the Australian Women’s cricket team, which went all the way to winning a fourth ICC World T20 championship.
