Child alimony controversy with Dilshan

After the divorce with Tillakaratne Dilshan, Nilanka Vithanage kept the custody of their son Resadu Tillakaratne. Few years later, Nilanka sued Dilshan over child alimony and the court summoned Dilshan after the ICC Cricket world cup in 2011. But he refused to appear before the court and agreed to pay around 200,000 LKR each month to his ex-wife and son.

In 2017, the issue was again in the news as Tillakaratne Dilshan failed to pay the monthly amount agreed earlier. Colombo Magistrate Court issued an arrest warrant against Dilshan on 24^th April 2017 as he had failed to reply for the notice. Though Dilshan appeared on the court finally on the next day and the issue was settled.
