Mollie King was born in Wandsworth, London. Her parents are Susan and Stephen King and she has two sisters in Ellen and Laura Ann. She went to Surbiton High School in London for her early education. Interestingly, Mollie King had a successful Ski career and she was in the Surbiton school Ski team. She went on and also raced for Great Britain at a very young age. After that, she turned down her Ski career and followed her dream of establishing herself as a singer.

In 2007, Mollie King founded the girl group called ‘The Saturdays’ with Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes and Vanessa White. The group has been fairly popular in UK with thirteen Top 10 hits and four Top 10 albums. They released their debut single called “If This is Love” in July 2008 and it immediately caught everyone’s attention with a charting at number eight in UK. After that the group never looked back and started producing one hit after another. Their hits included “UP”, “Chasing Lights”, “Issues”, “Just Can’t Get Enough”, “Work”, “Forever is Over”, “Ego”, etc. The group also completed their tour called ‘The Work Tour’ and has featured in various advertisements.

Later in 2012, the group moved to Los Angeles from London with an aim to get break in America. E! Network launched a reality TV show which followed girls during their stay in America. This show definitely helped the group to increase their single sales in America. After releasing their greatest hits album “Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits”, the group went on a break in 2014.

In 2015, Mollie King confirmed a solo contract with Island Records with a hope to release a solo album in 2016. Mollie released her debut solo single “Back to You” followed by “Hair Down” which came out in 2017. Both tracks received good responses from the audience.

Mollie King also had a brief career in TV starting with her appearances in Hollyoaks Later. She appeared in a BBC series Myths as a part of ‘The Saturdays’ association with the channel. Apart from these, her famous shows include The King is Dead, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Ghosthunting with.., The Saturdays: 24/7, Through the Keyhole, The Cube, etc. In 2017, she also announced her participation in dancing reality show Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One where she was partnered with AJ Pritchard.

Mollie King decided to fuel her radio dreams when she began her stints with BBC Radio 1. Firstly, she started co-hosting the show with Matt Edmondson on Saturdays only but later on, Mollie King began co-hosting the show on all three weekend days in June 2018. The show became popular and she has won many awards for the same.

Mollie King has been involved in various charity works along with her group The Saturdays. The group performed at the Help for Heroes charity concert with over 60,000 fans in attendance. In 2011, the group performed at Westfield shopping center and asked the customers to donate cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care. They have also associated with Manchester United in 2010 in order to raise money for charity organizations.
