What a rise it has been for Mohammed Siraj in international cricket in the last year or so! It has been a story for ages. From a bowler who used to be trolled for being too expensive in the Indian Premier League to India’s leading pace bowler in the ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Siraj has come a long way.
Not so long ago, Mohammed Siraj was one of the backup pacers for Men in Blue as he was waiting for his opportunity. However, injuries to the seniors, including Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami allowed him a space in the ODI set-up.
The 29-year-old grabbed his chance with both hands. With aggression in his body language and eyes, hitting the test cricket channels, and swinging the ball both ways, Mohammed Siraj was a breath of fresh air.
In his short career of 30 ODIs, Mohammed Siraj has accounted for 54 wickets at an impressive average of 20.01. Furthermore, he has maintained an economy rate of 4.87 with a strike rate of 24.60. Siraj has registered one five-wicket haul and two four-wicket hauls as well.

He is well-versed in the conditions and also knows how to bowl on the Indian pitches. Miya Bhai is currently the number one bowler in the ICC ODI rankings and he will have to bowl like the number one bowler to bring home India’s third ODI World Cup trophy.
