Mohammad Nawaz is a talented Pakistan all-rounder from Rawalpindi, Punjab. He is a Slow Left arm Orthodox spinner and is a lower-middle order batter for Pakistan.

Nawaz started out as a medium-pace bowler but transformed into a spin-bowling all-rounder in 2008. His then-coach, Ameer Akbar, was the major influence behind this shift.
Career
Mohammad Nawaz took up cricket as a profession only when he was 14. He got into the Pakistan Under-15 side for the 2008 International U-15 Championships in West Indies. His then-coach Ameer Akbar felt that the conditions in the Caribbean would help the spinners more and, therefore, helped Nawaz transform from Medium-pacer to a spinner.
Nawaz completed his schooling in FG Boys School but discontinued his studies in order to focus more on cricket.
2012 was an eventful year for Nawaz as he got into the Pakistan Under-19 side for the first time. In January 2012, he was a part of the U19 side that participated in the Tri-series alongside South Africa and Zimbabwe. He ended as the 2nd leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in the series.
His impressive performance earned him a call-up for the Rawalpindi senior side. In March 2012, he made his List-A as well as T20 debut for the team. Nawaz also played in the 2012 U19 World Cup under Babar Azam‘s captaincy. He ended the tournament with 10 wickets and 199 runs.
In October 2012, Nawaz made his First-class debut with the National Bank of Pakistan team. From 2012 to 2015, Nawaz was a regular in both the Pakistan U23 side and Pakistan A side.
He was bought by Quetta Gladiators for the 2016 Pakistan Super League. The all-rounder was the fourth leading wicket-taker and immediately earned the international call-up. He got into the Pakistan squad for the 2016 T20 World Cup.
His international debut came in the 2016 Asia Cup against the United Arab Emirates in February. His ODI and Test debuts also came in the same year.
Nawaz became the vice-captain for the Baluchistan team in 2018. In 2019, he was picked by Edmonton Royals for the Global T20 Canada. He has also represented Cape Town Blitz in the Mzansi Super League and Rajshahi Royals in the Bangladesh Premier League.
His first major stint in captaincy came for the Northern in the 2020/21 Pakistan T20 Cup. He was also a part of Pakistan’s 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad.
He grabbed his first five-wicket haul in Tests during the Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka in 2022.

Mohammad Nawaz is married to Saudi-born Diagonistc Radiographer Izdihaar. Their marriage took place in South Africa in 2018. The couple gave birth to a baby boy, Mohammad Zaryan Khan, in 2020.
