Merissa Aguilleira
Trinidadian sportswoman, Merissa Ria Aguilleira, has played for West Indies Women’s Cricket Team and for Trinidad and Tobago women’s cricket team. Selectors identified her leadership skills, after that she captained West Indies in the 2009 Women’s Cricket World Cup. In 2013, Merissa also led West Indies in World Cup Final.
She is very spiritual and believes that ‘God is in control’. She started playing cricket in primary school. Aguilleira is among those players with an excellent cricketing mind and the fact is proved by her captaining results. The former captain was a member of the 2016 T20 World Cup-winning team that took place in India.
She retired from International Cricket in April 2019. After retirement, she plans on becoming a qualified physical trainer and having her own beauty salon.
