In addition to excelling in the U-19 tournaments, Mayank has been impressive in the limited opportunities received at List A level in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021-22. In his debut game against Haryana, the pacer scalped 3/61 that comprised the wickets of Chaitanya Bishnoi, Shivam Chauhan and Mohit Sharma to defend a target of 268. In his second outing set against Saurashtra, he took 3/57 that had the likes of Harvik Desai, Sheldon Jackson and Samarth Vyas. In addition to Mayank’s economic display, his ability to tear through well-set batters is what worked immensely in his favor, especially at the time of the IPL 2022 auction.

The pacer was handed his maiden IPL contract at his base price of 20 lakhs by Lucknow Super Giants in the mega-auction held in 2022.
