Matt Kuhnemann Stats: Australia has handed a debut cap to left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann in the Delhi Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy. The left-arm spinner was called up as a replacement for Mitchell Swepson who has flown back home for the birth of his first child.

Matt Kuhnemann is a left-arm spinner from Gold Coast who has represented Australia in four ODIs, along with playing 13 first-class games, 28 List A matches and 36 T20s. Despite having played limited international cricket, Kuhnemann’s stats reflect his potential as a quality bowler.
In his 13 first-class matches, Kuhnemann has taken 35 wickets at an average of 34.80 with three five-wicket hauls. His best figures in first-class cricket are 5-69, which he achieved in a Sheffield Shield game against New South Wales in 2021. Kuhnemann’s performances in List A and T20 matches have also been impressive. He has taken 43 wickets in 28 List A matches at an average of 29.20, with best figures of 4-45. Kuhnemann’s entry into first-class cricket came in 2017 when he played his first List A game for a Cricket Australia XI in the JLT One-Day Cup. He impressed Brisbane Heat coach Daniel Vettori with his performances in the JLT Cup, and earned his first T20 contract in 2019. Matt Kuhnemann stats and performances in domestic cricket helped him earn a full contract with Queensland in 2019, and he made his ODI debut for Australia in September 2021 against the West Indies.
