Career Turning Point
A schoolboy batting prodigy at Winchester, Pataudi captained his school side in 12959 and racked up 1,068 runs.
In 1961, Tiger’s suffered an accident while travelling in a car as the shard of glass penetrated his right eye and damaged it for life. Not the one to back out, Pataudi was back in the nets practising with one eye. Je made his debut against England and scored 103 in the third Test to help India to their first series win against England.

In school cricket, Pataudi tacked up 1,068 runs in a season to beat the record set by Douglas Jardine.

Pataudi was awarded the prestigious Arjuna and Padma Shri in 1964 and 1967 respectively.
