In his early days, the player used to take part in the trials behind his parents as they did not like his son playing football. However, Lalrinzuala’s grit and determination not only convinced the parents but also helped him to be a part of the AIFF Elite Academy. In early 2016, the player was sponsored to have a training stint with Metz in France. He was one of the five young footballers who received a complete scholarship. 

In 2016, following his tremendous success, Jerry was signed by Chennaiyin FC on a free transfer. Without wasting him on the bench, the club sent him on a loan to DSK Shivajians. He received “Best Emerging Player of I-League” for his tremendous performances.

The player soon returned to Chennaiyin FC and was welcomed with open arms by the club. He formed a formidable partnership in the defense and even starred in the finals against Bengaluru FC as CFC went on to win the title. However, his career has hit the rock bottom due to his consistent injury troubles.
