Ishwar Pandey Career
In November 2010, Ishwar Pandey made a remarkable debut for Madhya Pradesh in first-class cricket against Goa. Throughout the season, he participated in three Ranji Trophy games, displaying promising talent and taking a total of nine wickets at an average of 27.
The following year, during the 2011-2012 Ranji Trophy season, Pandey’s performance soared as he claimed an impressive 25 wickets from six games, with a notable high of 6/31 and an average of 29.
Continuing his upward trajectory, the subsequent season in 2012-2013 saw Pandey reach new heights, snatching a remarkable 48 wickets from eight games at an outstanding average of slightly over 21. His exceptional form included five five-wicket hauls and one remarkable ten-wicket haul.
A defining moment in his career came during a game against Bengal, where Pandey’s spectacular bowling figures of 5/87 and 5/58 single-handedly led Madhya Pradesh to an unlikely victory.
His consistent and outstanding performances caught the attention of selectors, earning him a spot in the 2013 Irani Cup India A squad to face the visiting England side and the Rest of the India squad for the Mumbai match. Furthermore, he was acquired by Pune Warriors India for the 2013 Indian Premier League season, further cementing his reputation as a promising talent.
During the inaugural unofficial test match between South Africa A and India A in August 2013 at Rustenburg, Pandey continued to shine, securing statistics of 4/46 and 3/25. His exceptional performance continued in the second unofficial test with scores of 3/67 and 1/16, ending the series with a joint-most wickets.
His prowess was not limited to first-class cricket as he made significant contributions in the IPL, often playing for CSK in the 2015 season. Pandey’s brilliance extended to the Twenty20 format, as he scored a memorable hat-trick during a match between Madhya Pradesh and Andhra in the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January 2016.
