Sir Ian Terence Botham OBE is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of cricket. Nowadays, this former English cricketer can be easily noticed in the commentary box.
One of the greatest all-rounders, Sir Ian Terence Botham OBE was born in Heswali, Chesire, England on 24 November 1955. Highly regarded for his swing bowling abilities, botham was an aggressive right handed batsman and right arm medium pacer.
Botham is the second player to complete “match double” in test cricket. 27 times in a match, Botham has took 5 wickets while 4 times he has taken 10 wickets. In 2007, Botham was awarded a knighthood in the New Years Honours List and in 2009 he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
Apart from cricket, Botham was also a professional football player and made appearances in a few season for the Football League for Scunthorpe United.
