George Munsey Career
Munsey, born on 21 February 1993 in Oxford, England, has collected special recognition for his name. The International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as the player to watch in Scotland’s squad. The player has also scored six sixes in an over against Bath while playing for Gloucestershire 2nd XI.
The Scottish Cricketer started his cricketing journey after he lost his spirit and couldn’t survive as a pro golfer. George commenced his golf career by moving to Edinburgh at the early age of 13. Munsey’s dedication to becoming a pro golfer was entirely on track until 2016.
Due to tough challenges and massive competition in the game, George changed his mind and shifted his focus toward Cricket. The cricketer started with small steps and played club cricket in Scotland for The Grange Club and Watsonians.
George performed consistently well while playing for the club and received the central contract with Cricket Scotland in 2014. However, he made his T20I debut for Scotland in 2015 against Ireland. On the other hand, his ODI debut came against Hong Kong in 2017.
He made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire and was named in the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. Munsey signed with Hampshire for the 2020 Vitality Blast. He also represented Scotland A in playing against the Ireland Wolves in 2019.
The same year he was bought by Brampton Wolves for the Global T20 Canada and was named in Scotland’s squad for the 2019–20 Ireland Tri-Nation Series based on his performance. Munsey had his presence alive in the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament held in UAE and in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup too. George also played for Kent in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup.
