Chandimal became the youngest Sri Lankan cricketer to score a ton in 2010, scoring a century against India.
He is the fastest Sri Lankan batsman to score a fifty in Cricket World Cup history. In 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, he smashed 50 off 22 balls against Australia.
In 2009 he captained his school team and scored 1,500 runs, and apart from this he has also lead his school to 13 consecutive victories and won the Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year. Chandimal has the record for the most number of dismissals as wicketkeeper for Sri Lanka in Youth ODI history.
