Dennis Lillee is a former Australian fast bowler who was regarded as the best at what he did in his respective era. Lillee first made his debut for Australia in the 1970-71 Ashes series and there was no looking back for him ever since. Lille terrorized batsmen with his sheer pace, bounce and wicket-taking ability. The fast bowler announced his retirement in 1982, where he then shifted his focus into the coaching department. Denis Lillee was the first-ever bowler to take 350 wickets in Test match cricket.
Lillee was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame on December 17, 2009.

It was during a Test match between Australia and England, Lillee was batting with a bat manufactured through aluminium. While batting, Lillee struck a ball which went for three runs instead of four.
Australian skipper Greg Chappell then instructed one of his players to hand him over a wooden bat. As a result of that, the English captain Mike Brearley also complained to the umpires about not the practice is unethical.
Lillee was reluctant to change the bat, but then ultimately went for the wooden bat. After the game, a rule was made that only wooden bats can be used while batting.

Dennis Lillee has coached the likes of Brett Lee, Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson to name a few in their early days.
Lillee was made the president of Western Australia Cricket Association in 2005.
