Damien Martyn is the former Australian cricketer who represented Australia in both tests and ODIs. Martyn’s full name is Damien Richard Martyn. Known for his classic batting technique, Martyn was a right-handed middle-order batsman. Martyn was particularly known for his elegant strokeplay through square off the wicket and covers in the off-side. Martyn went on to have a fulfilling career for the Kangaroos lasting for a span of 14 years.

He also made his ODI debut in the same series against West Indies on 8th December 1992. Martyn went on to score 4406 runs in 67 tests and 5346 runs in 208 ODIs. Martyn has played 4 T20Is as well for Australia making his T20I debut against the Blackcaps. Martyn also was part of the World Cup-winning Australian side in 2003 under the leadership of Ricky Ponting, where he played a brilliant inning of 88 runs against India in the final helping Australia to win back-to-back World Cups.
