Corey James Anderson
(New Zealand Cricketer)
Corey Anderson announced himself at the International stage by hammering Shahid Afridi’s fastest ODI century record, which was eventually broken by AB de Villiers. Unable to produce any more of such blitzy performances, the New Zealand all-rounder fizzled out soon. However, he is still one of the sought after names in T20 leagues across the globe.
On 1 January 2014, Corey Anderson scored the fastest century in the history of One Day International cricket or any other format of list A cricket, playing against West Indies. He took just 36 balls to break Shahid Afridi’s record of 37 deliveries in 1996 against Sri Lanka. The record was broken on 18 January 2015 by AB de Villiers, who scored the fastest ODI century against the West Indies in Johannesburg taking just 31 deliveries.
