Though he has been quite expensive in the ODIs played so far, Binura has been no short of an exciting prospect from Sri Lanka in the shortest format. In his T20I debut against Pakistan in 2015, he finished with figures of 1/38 but picked two more scalps in the next outing. That was followed by a long break in the T20Is before he was called back into the squad for the tour of England in 2021, where he finished the series with 2 wickets at an economy of 6.14. In the only match that he played against Australia in the 5-match series in 2021-22, Binura wrapped the outing with figures of 2/12, with Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade as his dismissals.
In the Lanka Premier League, Binura had a dismal campaign in the inaugural edition in 2020-21, where he played for the Jaffna Stallions and finished with 2 wickets in 4 appearances while bowling at an economy in excess of 10. Nonetheless, he managed to get his hands onto the maiden edition of the trophy, courtesy of a team effort at the regular stages of the tournament. Come the 2021-22 edition, the tall left-arm quick was prepared to take on the ante – this time while playing at Kandy Warriors – and he finished with 4 scalps in 3 matches at an average and economy of 17.75 and 7.34 respectively.
Binura Fernando IPL Team
Binura hasn’t bagged an IPL contract yet. However, if he keeps on churning wickets at a rapid pace then he could very well get hold of a franchise in the future. A tall well-built player who can generate massive bounce off the wicket plus swing the ball either way – in all likelihood a player to keep an eye upon from subcontinent.
Binura Fernando Wife
Though Binura is engaged, however, he has kept it a private affair, and thus, there’s no information about his better half on the internet.
