Atanu Das-
Born on 5th April 1992, Atanu Das is an Indian archer who represents the nation in the Recurve Men’s Individual and Team events. He hails from Kolkata, West Bengal and did his schooling from Baranagar Narendranath Vidyamandir, Baranagar. Atanu started archery at the age of 14 under the coaching of Mithu Da. In 2008, he moved to Tata Archery Academy and began training under the Korean coach Lim Chae Wong. Atanu is righthanded and his arrows are 28″ long and his draw weight is 37.5 lbs. He made his international debut in 2008 and is one of India’s leading male recurve archers. Currently employed in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Kolkata, Atanu’s current world ranking is 34. He will be representing the Indian Men team in individual as well as team Recurve events in Tokyo 2020-Olympics after the Indian team finished second behind China at the World Championships in s’Hertogenbosch (Netherlands) in June.
