Ashok Dinda, a talented right-arm medium pace bowler, hails from a small village in Kolkata. His remarkable abilities were discovered by a coach named Atal Dev Burman, who recognized his potential and urged him to stay and refine his bowling skills. Dinda heeded the advice and began his journey towards becoming a professional cricketer. He had a brief stint with the Australian Institute of Sport, which further enhanced his abilities. In the year 2005-06, Dinda made his first-class debut for Bengal.

Although Dinda’s performance in domestic cricket was not exceptional, he received a significant opportunity to showcase his skills in the Indian T20 league. He was selected to play for the Kolkata franchise and made an impressive debut in the opening game. This marked the beginning of his successful foray into the highly competitive world of T20 cricket. In September of that year, Dinda’s talent earned him a place in the Rest of India squad for the prestigious Irani Trophy. Additionally, he was chosen to represent the India A team during their tour of Israel. These opportunities allowed him to gain exposure and experience at a higher level.

Dinda’s consistent performances in domestic cricket caught the attention of the national selectors, leading to his debut in international cricket.
