Aryaman Birla hails from the state of Madhya Pradesh. Being a son of a brilliant, one would expect him to follow his father’s footsteps. However, Aryaman create his own niche and pursued his passion for cricket. Since his childhood, he was inclined towards cricket and later decided to become a professional cricketer.

He made rapid strides at the age-group cricket and gradually made his way ahead. Hard work eventually paid off as he was drafted in Madhya Pradesh’s Ranji team. He received his debut cap in 2017 and hit a century in only his third first-class game. So far, he has managed to play nine first-class matches, eight of which came during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy.

His best knock so far has come against Bengal in what was only this third first-class game. His knock helped Madhya Pradesh salvage a hard-fought draw. Impressive performances during the Ranji season meant Rajasthan Royals bought him for his base price of 20 Lakhs in the 2018 edition of IPL.

Unfortunately, owing to injuries and several other setbacks led to Aryaman taking an indefinite break from cricket last year, citing anxiety and mental stress.

“I’ve felt trapped. I’ve pushed myself through all the distress so far, but now I feel the need to put my mental health and wellbeing above all else,” he wrote on Instagram. “We all have our own journeys and I want to take this time to understand myself better, open my mind to new and varied perspectives and seek purpose in my findings,” he had said while announcing his sabbatical.

Aryaman certainly has shown a glimpse of his potential at the domestic level. It remains to be seen whether he would be able to realise his dream of representing the Indian Cricket Team.
