Chethana Ramatheertha is the wife of former Indian cricketer and head coach Anil Kumble. The two got married on 1st July 1999. She is a post-graduate in English Literature but is presently a homemaker by profession.

Chethana Ramatheertha is married to Anil Kumble. The duo met at a travel agency where she used to work previously. Back then, she was married to her first husband and lived separately. She was legally separated from her then-husband in 1998. A year later, she got married to Anil Kumble on 1 July 1999. They are happily married with three children, named Aaruni Kumble, Mayas Kumble and Svasti Kumble.

Anil Kumble is a big name when it comes to Indian and World cricket. He is widely regarded as one of the best leg-spin bowlers and picked up 619 Test wickets for India. Kumble is the fourth highest wicket-taker of all time in Tests as of 2022. He also holds the famous record for picking all ten wickets in a Test match innings against Pakistan in 1999. Kumble represented India in 271 ODIs, picking up 337 wickets.

Interestingly, he also played 42 IPL matches where he picked up 45 wickets while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Anil Kumble was named Cricketer of the Year in 1993 (Indian cricket) and was also named among the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1996.

Professional Career

Chethana Ramatheertha has a postgraduate degree in English Literature. She used to work at a travel agency named Trans-Oceans Travels, where she first met Anil Kumble. However, post her marriage to the former Indian cricketer, she turned into a full-time homemaker.
