Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman (Former Indian Cricketer)
Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman or Very Very Special as he is commonly known is a former Indian cricketer and currently can be seen in commentary box. An aggressive right-handed lower middle order batsman, Laxman was born on November 1, 1974 in Hyderabad, India and is hailed for his several match-winning and match-saving innings. His 281 knock against Australia at Eden gardens in 2001 is among the greatest test innings ever.
Padma Shree Awardee, Laxman is also in the list of a few players who have played 100 tests and have never played a Cricket World Cup. Representing Hyderabad in the domestic circuit, Laxman played for Lancashire in the English County and was named in Wisden’s Cricketers of the years in 2002.
In 2012, Laxman took retirement from the international cricket. These days he can be easily seen behind the mic and mentors Sun Risers Hyderabad in IPL.
