Thisara Perara’s full name is Narangoda Liyanaarachchilage Thisara Chirantha Perera who is is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and the former ODI captain for Sri Lanka.

He doesn’t play the longest format of the game, but he plays the limited-overs format for Sri Lanka.

He also plays for Colts Cricket Club, Wayamba Wolves, and he joined Gloucestershire squad for playing NatWest T20 Blast. He represented Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League and he is primarily a bowling all-rounder. An aggressive left-handed batsman who can hit big sixes in death overs is also a useful right-arm medium-fast bowler.

On 26 July 2013 against the Proteas, Thisara Perera scored 35 runs in an over against Robin Peterson. It got recorded as the second most expensive over in ODI History.

Career Turning Point

  •  He started playing cricket at school level and he continued to achieve exellence at college level too. He then went on to represent Sri Lanka at various youth levels, and he subsequently got selected for the 2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In November 2008, he made his first class debut for the Colts Cricket Club. He is also the leading wicket taker for Sri Lanka national under-19 cricket team.
