Indian cricketer, Priyam Garg made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was selected in the India Green team’s squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy in August 2019. He got his name registered in India C’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019. He was named as the captain of India’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2019.
Priyam is pursuing cricket at the age of 6 years and joined the Victoria Park cricket training ground in Meerut at the age of 8. Priyam belongs to a financially weak family who could not afford a television to watch cricket. His father did all the hard work such as selling milk, driving vans, loading goods in trucks, and delivering newspapers in order to support Priyam’s cricket training. Garg worked on his batting skills and also admired India’s two fast bowlers of India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Praveen Kumar as they were trained from the same cricket ground.
Suresh Raina had also trained him when he selected in the Uttar Pradesh team.
According to reports, Garg was also in line to be selected in India’s U-19 team in the year 2018 but was not selected due to a drop in the form. Later, in 2019 he made his way to the Team.
