Alex Hales is an English cricketer who was born on 3 January 1989. A right-handed opening batsman, Hales made his debut against India in August 2014 and he went on to make his Test debut against South Africa in December 2-015. He currently plays for Nottinghamshire in County cricket, Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League and the England cricket team. Hales is the only English batsman to notch a century in T20 format. Alex Hales was born in Hillington and he took his education from Buckinghamshire.
Hales burst into the limelight after hitting 55 runs off a single over in a cricket Idol T20 tournament at Lords in 2005. But, surprisingly, he got roped in to play first-class cricket for his fast bowling abilities.

- Alex Hales scored 55 runs while playing at London County Cricket Club’s Founders Day at Lord’s in 2005, which included three no balls. He smashed 8 sixes and a four in the over. He went on to finish the innings unbeaten 114.
- While playing for Nottinghamshire, Hales scored 2018 runs in 2007. Interestingly, it was Hales’ second appearance for the county. This impressive score was followed by a century and two 95s.
- Hales smashed 150 runs off just 102 balls against Worcestershire in a Pro40 match in 2009.
- While playing third ODI against Pakistan in August 2016, he scored 171 off 122 balls which included 22 fours and 4 sixes. With this, he broke Robin Smith’s (167) record for highest ever individual ODI score.
