Olympics 2024 India Schedule for July 25: Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai will lead the Archery squad

While the opening ceremony of the Olympics 2024 in Paris is scheduled for Friday, July 26th, the archery event will begin a day before the ceremony. The individual ranking round for both men’s and women’s categories will be held on Thursday.

India will begin their quest for the medals in the Paris Olympics 2024 as the Archery team will feature in the individual event on 25 July. It will be the first time since the London Olympics 2012 that a full-strength six-member side will participate for India in the Olympic Archery events.

Ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024, the Indian team secured team quotas in both women’s and men’s categories alongside the individual events. Hence, the Indian team will be participating in all 5 archery events.

The Indian side will be competing in the men’s team, women’s team, and mixed team events alongside men’s individual and women’s individual events.

The Indian unit have a mixture of experience and youth as the former world number one Deepika Kumari will participate in her 4th Olympics Games. She has been a constant feature in the Indian Archery squad since the London Olympics in 2012.

Talking about the men’s team, the 40-year-old Tarundeep Rai will also make his 4th Olympics appearance. Interestingly, despite going for his 4th appearance in the Olympics, Tarundeep will be making successive appearances for the first time. He represented India in 2004 and 2012 before participating in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

After featuring in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Pravin Jadhav will be making his second successive appearance in the world event, while the likes of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Bhajan Kaur, and Ankita Bhakat will be making their Olympics debut.
