Nostragamus Table Tennis | TT Cup Prediction
Game 1 Preview: Dmitriy Arzanov and Artem Derevinskii will be playing for the bragging rights in Group “Red” of Table Tennis Ukraine Cup.
For the first time in four matchdays, Dmitriy Arzanov finally ended the day with a positive return, after winning four of the six games on March 21. But that’s not the whole picture, for the two defeats came in the last two games which makes him on a two-game losing run heading into this match.
But the Sumy-born player should look for the positive of the last day. He won the first four games, beating Kolos 3-1 (11:6, 8:11, 10:12, 8:11), Zaitsev 3-2 (9:11, 11:9, 6:11, 11:7, 14:12), Liushnia (14:12, 3:11, 8:11, 6:11), and drew Baistriuchenko blank with 7:11, 9:11, 9:11 straight sets win.
Artem Derevinskii also had a day to remember as he ended the day winning 13 sets dropping only four. Overall, the 27-year-old won four games out of five, with the only defeat coming in the opening game of the day, a 1-3 defeat against Kinash (7:11, 3:11, 11:9, 8:11). After that defeat he dropped only one set in the subsequent four games, beating Selin (5:11, 9:11, 5:11), Baistriuchenko (11:9, 11:4, 11:5) and Kostiuk (11:5, 11:4, 11:9) in the final game of the day by three-games-to-nil, and also defeated Derevinskyii 3-1 (5:11, 11:9, 8:11, 5:11).
Who is favourite to win the game?
We say, Artem Derevinskii. The reason being his form and the confidence with which he is playing these days. He was one of the best players yesterday, while Dmitriy Arzanov dropped the last two games.
Game2: In this matchup, Oleksii Krutko will be taking on Konstantyn Kirsanov in a “Blue Light” group match.
Oleksii Krutko is one of the most in-form players in this tournament. He has had a positive output in the last five matchdays. During that period, he played 27 games, winning an impressive 18 of those matches, while losing just nine games.
In yesterday’s schedule, he won three games out of five, taking home 13 sets, while dropping 10. So in some sense, considering his form, he stuttered a bit. More importantly, he ended the day with a 2-3 defeat against Boiko (11:6, 13:11, 9:11, 5:11, 7:11).
Konstantyn Kirsanov has a rating of 198 and arrives in this game on a relatively poor run of form. He failed to win any game in the last two matchdays, losing 8 consecutive matches, and has just one win to show for his efforts in the last 18 games.
Favourite to win: We can draw a conclusion from above-mentioned numbers that Krutko is favourite to win the match.
