Rahi Sarnobat Shooting Born on 30 October 1990, Rahi Sarnobat is an India shooter who competes in the event of 25 meters pistol shooting. Sarnobat is the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in shooting in Asian Games. She won the Gold medal at 2018 Jakarta Palembang in Women’s 25-meter pistol event. Rahi won her first Gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. Rahi was born in Kolhapur in Maharashtra. Her inspiration is fellow Maharashtrian and 50m rifle pro World Champion Tejaswini Sawant.

  • On 22 August 2018, Rahi became the first Indian woman individual Asian Games gold medalist.
  • She defeated her Thai opponent to bag the Gold with a game’s record score of 34.
  • Rahi trains under coach Munkhbayar Dorsjuren. Dorjsuren charges Rs 5 lakh per month
