Watch: Bharat Army lauds Virat Kohli's Heroics at Edgbaston

KOHLI EMERGES VICTORIOUS

On day 2, in the first Test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham, Virat Kohli emerged as the lone warrior. The Indian skipper was already disappointed by his previous England tour performances. He made a great come back here on day 2 by hitting a courageous century in the first innings.

Excluding him, no other batsmen played up to the mark and all of them got out early by the English bowlers. But still, Kohli remained firm at the crease and stroked up his maiden Test ton (149 runs) on English soil. He built a partnership of 92 runs from the last two wickets. India were bowled all out for 274, trailing the hosts by 13. Kohli’s 22nd Test hundred included 22 boundaries and 1 six.

So, as an act of gesture and support, Indian cricket supporters club ‘Bharat Army’ came up with a chant for the charismatic batsman. In a video posted by The Bharat Army, the fans can be heard cheering and chanting for Kohli. The crowd was very energetic and filled with pride at the performance of this charismatic cricketer.

For now, Edgbaston Test proves to be in favour of Kohli who finally got out after a fighting 51 run innings today. For now, India needs 52 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-Test series
