Indian cricket team is touring South Africa for three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is, starting January 5 in Cape Town. After the practice sessions in South Africa so far, Shastri said that India is well-prepared for upcoming challenge.
However, Indian skipper Kohli expressed displeasure regarding the practice tracks on offer at the Western Province Cricket Club in Cape Town earlier. Captain Kohli said “The wicket we are practicing on is not even 15 per cent of what we are going to get. There is no point wasting two days in a game and would rather be better if we practice by ourselves to get into the Test match zone.”
Talking to the media, Shastri said that the team is up for the challenge. He added that the group has gained experience and the opposition or conditions don’t matter to this team. We are looking to adapt to the conditions.
Shastri said that the tour will be a contest and players cannot wait to have a go.
