Shakib Al Hasan would make a comeback in the knock out clash against Srilanka for Bangladesh in Nidahas Trophy. Bangladesh all-rounder would join the team for the game against Srilanka which is scheduled to be played on Friday.
Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently the Test and T20 skipper for Bangladesh was ruled out from the series after he failed to recover from the finger injury. The left-hander suffered the injury during the triangular ODI series against Srilanka and Zimbabwe in January.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed that Shakib will travel to Colombo on 15 March after recovering from the injury to join the team. Bangladesh lost their opening match in the Nidahas Trophy to India but made a comeback against Srilanka, chasing the hosts’ 214/6. They lost their next match against India but still have a chance to make it to the finals which will be played on Sunday.
Srilanka has also won one and lost their two matches, thus the game on Friday would decide which team would take on India on Sunday for the final. Hasan’s inclusion might breathe a life into weakened bowling attack of Bangladesh.
