The United States of America are aiming to become the first team to win three Basketball World Cups, having won the 2010 and 2014 editions.

If a team to achieve the unprecedented three-peat, it has to the USA, a country which is the biggest market for the best-known Basketball players on the whole planet.

At the moment, the champions are just three games away from lifting the coveted trophy. Gregg Popovich’s men are also hitting their strides at the right time, winning the last three games by a combined margin of 85 points.

But France will be a tough nut to crack, even for the USA. The Aussies found it as they just about managed to escape with a 100-98 win in the last round. This was the first loss for Vincent Collet’s men at this World Cup.

The Bronze medalists from the last edition boast a roster full of talented players, with the likes of Rudy Gobert, Nicolas Batum, Frank Ntilikina and Even Fournier being the household names amongst the NBA fraternity.

Head coach Gregg Popovich could once again be without Jayson Tatum. The 21-year-old Boston Celtics forward sprained his ankle during USA’s overtime win over Turkey, missing the last three games.
Kemba Walker was a doubt before the last game due to an illness but the new Boston Celtics player was fit enough to start the match. He should be fine for this game as well.
Joe Harris has been clocking more minutes due to the continued absence of Tatu, and he has been more than impressive. The 28-year-old Brooklyn Nets’ guard should start the match.
Jaylen Brown and Khris Middleton should soak up the most minutes from the bench.

France:

Vincent Collet left out both Theo Maledon and Elie Okobo from his final 12-man roster for the World Cup. No injury concerns for his ahead of this game.
