Anfernee Simons celebrating POR vs MIL Dream11

POR vs MIL Dream11: Buzz, buzz, buzz…. My phone has been buzzing with the trade rumors and well, the followers of the league know this is the case around the trade deadline. Well, a lot of teams have lined up a bunch of proposals and are working out combinations to pull off major exchanges as I write. And well, this is how it has been around this deadline as the All-Star Break nears. The All-Star status players can also be moved which makes this is the most essential part of the month, even more than the All-Star weekend. One of the teams here in Portland Trail Blazers has already made a mega trade and as they meet Milwaukee Bucks, they can work out more of them!

The Trail Blazers traded their incredible wing Norman Powell and veteran Power Forward Robert Covington in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, Keon Johnson, Justise Winslow, and a future second-round pick. A trade that makes sense because it relaxes the luxury cap for the management and can potentially mean a rebuild in his works. Will this mean that key players CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic be traded? Are the Trail Blazers heading towards a rebuild?

On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks may not be so active in the trade market, unless they make some small-time moves. The team already has a solid core that brought them a championship last season and I am pretty sure the team is more focused upon the postseason push than this trade deadline window. Well, the Bucks have 11 more wins than losses and I do believe they can scrap a 65% win record by the end of the season.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Portland: Rebuild in works?
Trail Blazers have lost four in a row and this has been the case for most of the season. They keep on stacking up losses. Even when Lillard, McCollum, Powell, and Nurkic were healthy, the team was struggling to stitch together meaningful winning streaks, and well, after a brief happy spell in mid-January, the team has fallen off the radar once again. Somehow, they are in the Play-in contention but I doubt the players and management alike are happy with the current record. Perhaps trading Norman Powell is the beginning of a rebuild for this squad.

As of now, it seems the team will stick with Anfernee Simons, who can be a foundational player in the long run. He has shown a capability of hitting a variety of shots and can become a big-time scorer and playmaker. If the team sticks with CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic, they will have a lot of experience at the off-guard and the Center position. However, with Robert Covington and Powell traded, the wing and the Power Forward positions are exposed. Can Winslow resurrect his career with Portland? Can Bledsoe bolster the guard position? What is the future of this flailing team?

Bucks: Defending champs can trigger a big run
When you have a 32 wins and 21 losses record and are the defending champions, the chances of making other Finals are high. The Bucks have been having some troubles going on big winning streaks but I think if the core of Giannis, Middleton, and Holiday remains healthy, they will give a lot of trouble as the postseason nears. Sure, the Eastern Conference has been bolstered this season with the likes of Heat and Bulls while the 76ers remain a firm candidate for the Finals, but let me tell you something, the Bucks are well-versed and highly dynamic with their length.

Antetokounmpo continues to have an MVP-like impact and the league is yet to find an answer for his length and athleticism at the Forward position. Middleton complements Antetokounmpo well and vice versa and during the Playoffs, he always has those big nights in his back pocket. Jrue Holiday was one of the prime reasons why the team won the championship. Portis has been a solid Center in absence of Brook Lopez. The off-guard position has been a tad inconsistent with Donte, Allen, and Connaughton, but I think it is about figuring out rotations rather than anything serious. The Bucks are primed to make a run.

Unfortunately for Indian fans, the contest is not available on streaming services Voot and JIO TU and you can’t watch it on TV outlets MTV and VH1 either. That is why the best way to catch most of the NBA action is to acquire the NBA League Pass and if you can spend some bucks, acquire the annual subscription and you get both the live stream and the full game replay.
