LAL vs MIN Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Minnesota Timberwolves can out more niwery on Los Angeles Lakers as when they host a shorthanded Showtime in an NBA match at Target Centre, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Monday morning (IST).
Minnesota Timberwolves:
Finally, Minnesota Timberwolves tasted their first victory of the new year at the third time of asking. The first two games, New Orleans Pelicans (123-114) and Boston Celtics (115-102), ended in defeats, all games away from the road.
However, the last match was against a relatively benign opponent in Orlando Magic. And the Wolves took the opportunity and produced a desirable result.
Los Angeles Lakers:
There’s always a post-match talk after the result of any match and when a team losses, especially a big one, it’s a postmortem, with fans, pundits and people at the administrative level always making efforts to dig deep and deep to look for reasons for the uncanny or too many unexpected results.
For Los Angeles Lakers, the reasons are many. They are losing too many games, showing little or no fight against teams not considered as a threat for the playoffs. And you just need to listen to post-match interviews of Lakers’ players and staff, and there’s always a different perspective.
For example, head coach Luke Walton discussed about his team’s inability to move the ball down the stretch. Lonzo Ball showed his frustration at not using the ball better towards the end of the game and also pressed his teammates for making less fouls. JaVale McGee talked about being aggressive from the start. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope emphasized the need to stick to the plans during the current dark days.
However, the one notion which stands out is the absence of one player which only moved to the Hollywood during the off-season and is out injured.
LeBron James is not playing and you can look into Lakers’ current form to know how the Showtime are now becoming the new Cleveland Cavaliers of the Western Conference. There is an all familiarity of depending on him for results.
Lakers are now 3-7 in the last 10 games coming into this game. What’s more alarming is that they are now 8th in the Western Conference table, just three games better than Sacramento Kings. It was not long ago that the Showtime were 4th in the table.
The last game was against New York Knicks, a team currently lying at 14th in the Eastern Conference and the shorthanded Lakers ended up losing 112-119 away, their 2ns consecutive defeat.
Regular Season Record-

Players to watch out for:
Minnesota Timberwolves:
Karl-Anthony Towns – Had a very good game as Minnesota finally returned to winning ways. He scored a game-high 29 points and add another 15 rebounds to his numbers. At 23, he is still an unfinished product. For the season, he is dropping more than 20 points per game.
Andrew Wiggins – He is having a very good season and is scoring at a very good rate in the last 10 games or so. In the last match he dropped 16 points. The 23-year-old is going for 16.7 points per game.
Los Angeles Lakers:
Kyle Kuzma – The news is that Kuzma will travel with the squad for this game as he has been listed as questionable ahead of this match. He becomes the focal point in the offensive area in the absence of LeBron James. At 23, he is still a work in progress. He is dropping 18.1 points per game, while his average in the last 10 games is 21.1 points per game.
Brandon Ingram – He is having a very good season. Lakers’ bad phase coincided with his injury and rounded off to some extent when he made a came back. The 21-year-old is a star for the future but he is still racking up good numbers.
