LAL vs MEM DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Memphis Grizzlies will be looking for a statement win when they host fellow Western Conference team Los Angeles Lakers in an NBA match at FedExForum, in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sunday morning (IST).
Memphis Grizzlies:
Memphis Grizzlies (14-9) are sixth in the Western Conference and considering where they finished last season and by their off-season recruitment, you wonder if they are punching above their weights till now.
They don’t even have a star who may be performing like a beast, dropping the insane number of points game after game or perhaps a candidate in their ranks who could be flagged for the season-ending personal awards.
But what they have is players putting the team before them, and always striving to get the results. The likes of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, Jarren Jackson and Garrett Temple may not be the households names around the world or even in America for that matter, but the team is doing enough this season.
Memphis beat Los Angeles Clippers 96-86 in the last match, their sixth win in the last 10 matches, and the eighth in the 11 home games this season.
Los Angeles Lakers:
Los Angeles Lakers continue their upward trajectory in the Western Conference. The cherry on the top was a special win in the last match, 121-113 vs San Antonio Spurs, the first for Lakers this season over Spurs.
Now after winning their fourth game on the trot, the Showtime rose to fifth in the table, just two wins away from 1st placed Denver Nuggets.
LeBron James came good once again for his new team, this time dropping a magnificent 42 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the match. Kyle Kuzma touched the 20 points mark as well, ending with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in his 39 minutes on the court.
However, the win was marred by an injury to Brandon Ingram who had to leave the court after just five minutes of play. But the good news is that there was no fracture revealed in the scans, but he will definitely miss some game time, that’s for sure.
Regular Season Record-
Memphis Grizzlies: W-13, L-9
Los Angeles Lakers: W-17, L-9
Players to watch out for:
Memphis Grizzlies:
Mike Conley – The old warhorse is having the season of his life, dropping 21.1 points per game, almost one-third more than every game what he has averaged so far in his career.
The 31-year-old Guard has taken his game even to greater heights in the last 10 games and remains Grizzlies’ best player by some margin.
Marc Gasol – The two-time Olympic Silver medalist is contributing with good numbers this season. His general play is second to none, scoring 9.3 rebounds, and 17.4 points per game. He is good enough to be in your NBA fantasy team.
Los Angeles Lakers:
LeBron James – He is the very big reason for the rise of the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Therer are certain benefits of having a big and a proven star in your ranks and one of them is that the teammates have to raise their game, and that’s what happened. The former Cleveland Cavaliers star is taking his average to new heights with each passing game, scoring 28.4 points per game.
Kyle Kuzma – He had a very solid outing against San Antonio Spurs as he scored 22 points, which was his fourth score in the 20s in the last six games. The Utah born 23-year-old forward is dropping 16.8 points per game this season.
