Los Angeles Lakers entertain Memphis Grizzlies in NBA at Staples Center, as the Showtime aims for their third consecutive win of the new season.

After opening the season with a 112-102 defeat against Kawhi Leonard and Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers didn’t find any difficulty in seeing off Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets in the next two matches. Anthony Davis and LeBron James are already proving to be too hot to handle for the opponents, with the pair looking menacing while playing together.

Memphis Grizzlies will have their task cut out when they face the in-form Lakers. But Memphis will have the wind in their sails as they are fresh off a buzzer-beater against Brooklyn Nets – Memphis’ first such win in more than a decade.

But the game against in Los Angeles will be a reality check for Taylor Jenkins’ young group of players.

Lakers:

Rajon Rondo missed Lakers’ first three games of the season due to an injury. The veteran star is suffering from a calf injury for which he had an MRI last week. The scans mitigated any fear of a major issue, but Rondo is still not 100% match fit. He remains doubtful ahead of this game.

Anthony Davis left the court late in the fourth quarter against Charlotte Hornets due to an injury. But Davis shits down all the rumors about the extent of his injury and confirmed he will be available to face Grizzlies.

Kyle Kuzma is progressing well in his rehab from an ankle injury which has kept him out from Lakers’ preseason and the first three games. The 23-year-old star is expected to be available in the next 2-3 weeks.

In addition, DeMarcus Cousins and Talen Horton-Tucker both remain on the sideline.

Grizzlies:

Ja Morant, who notched up his first career 30-point game, sprained his ankle against Brooklyn Nets late in the game. The rookie is listed as doubtful ahead of this game.

Josh Jackson and Andre Iguodala are both expected to miss the match due to personal reasons.

Brandon Clarke shook off an apparent injury to feature against Nets but Kyle Anderson remains a doubt.
