GSW vs SAS Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Golden State Warriors will meet San Antonio Spurs in the NBA match at Oracle Arena, in Oregon, Oakland, on Thursday morning (IST).
With LeBron James rested due to soreness, Golden State Warriors had too much firepower in their locker as they beat the Los Angeles Lakers 115-101 at Oracle Arena.
The King made his first appearance against Los Angeles Clippers since suffering a groin injury on Boxing day. The 34-year-old played for 40 minutes and it was too much for him to play two consecutive games in as many days.
Klay Thompson had the match’s best efforts as he scored 28 points, 2 assists and 5 rebounds. While his Splash brother Stephen Curry had an off day at the office as he could manage just 2 points in the first three quarters.
But the two-time NBA MVP didn’t let the game end without making an impact and he did, scoring 12 of Warriors’ 27 points in the fourth quarter.
San Antonio Spurs are coming into this match on the back of a big loss against Sacramento Kings. Gregg Popovich’s men, however, are in good form and should present a good fight to the defending champions.
There were some positives to take from the game though, like DeMar DeRozan’s 24 points display. The former Toronto Raptors has been a hit and miss this season, and the last match was just the second time in the last 10 game where he scored in the 20s.
Regular Season Record-
Golden State Warriors: W-37, L-15
San Antonio Spurs: W-32, L-23
Players to watch out for:
Golden State Warriors:
Kevin Durant –Part of the holy trinity, the former Oklahoma City Thunder is living legend. His displays in the last two NBA finals is etched in the memory of the NBA fans. The 30-year-old is averaging 27.5 points per game this season, the 2nd most for Warriors this season.
Stephen Curry – There is nothing he can’t do on a Basketball court. Be it dribbling, taking on the players, an unparalleled eye for the pass and not to mention his shooting from beyond the arc, the 30-year-old is once in a lifetime player. Tied for the 2nd most 30+ games this season, Curry is leading the scoring charts for Warriors, dropping 29.2 points per game this season.
San Antonio Spurs:
DeMar DeRozan –He is struggling for consistency this season but the former Toronto Raptors player remains a threat on any given day. The 29-year-old is scoring points at 21.3 per game, and he remains the only player in Spurs’ rank to average in the 20s this season.
LaMarcus Aldridge –DeRozan may be struggling but Spurs have a player in their ranks who has erupted in the last one month or so. The 33-year-old is in the rich vein of form and is dropping points at 21.2 per game.
