GSW vs NOP Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Golden State Warriors will be looking to extend their winning streak when they play host to an inconsistent New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA match at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, on Thursday morning (IST).

Golden State Warriors:
It was a battle between the top sides of the Western Conference, an away game for Golden State Warriors, while Denver Nuggets were playing in front of their own fans. Before the match, Denver (29-13) were at the top in the West with Warriors (29-14) just behind them in the table, by one game to be precise.

For the most part of the season, the Dubs have let their fans down, especially in the big games. They lost to Los Angeles Lakers, fell twice against Toronto Raptors, and how can we forget that over-time loss against Houston Rockets, James Harden’s blitz blinded Steve Kerr’s men. And there was a small matter of shrugging off the loss Warriors suffered against the same opponents in the third game of the season.

But Warriors flexed their real muscles against Denver Nuggets, beating them 111-142 in their own backyard and knocked them off the top of the perch from the Western Conference. They won all the quarters, dropping a mammoth 51 points in the first quarter alone, an NBA record.

The Dubs’ holy trinity caught Torrey Craig and Paul Millsap off guard, dropping a combined 89 points. The Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored a joint game-high 31 points each while Klay Thompson added 27 points to Warriors’ efforts. Kevon Looney and Draymond Green had a very good game inside the paint as well, with the former adding 12 rebounds and Green contributing with 12 assists in the match.

It must be a hard pill to swallow for all the Denver Nuggets’ players considering they have been hailed as a Championship pedigree team. And to lose like that, to concede so many points in the same quarter would definitely leave an indelible dot on Nuggets’ psychology.

New Orleans Pelicans:
The inconsistency has been a big issue for the New Orleans Pelicans this season. Last year they finished sixth in the Western Conference, ending the regular season with a 48-34 record to finish the regular season at 6th in the table.

But the scenarios have changed in this part of NBA, and no team can take anything for granted. The rise of Denver Nuggets has taken the NBA fraternity by surprise, while Los Angeles Lakers were always going to be a big threat for the playoff positions after LeBron James headed to the Hollywood in the off-season.

Regular Season Record-
Golden State Warriors:
W-30, L-14
New Orleans Pelicans:
W-21, L-23

Players to watch out for:

Golden State Warriors:
Stephen Curry –
The two-time NBA MVP is averaging 29.4 points per game this season. The 30-year-old scored 31 points in the last match. The 2009 1st round pick is in very good form at the moment, scoring points at 30.1 per game in the last 10 games.
Kevin Durant – Another superstar who has the ability to change the game on his own. The former Oklahoma City Thunder is racking up 28.2 points per game. The 30-year-old has scored 20 or more points in the 17 consecutive games.

New Orleans Pelicans:
Anthony Davis –
Superstar Anthony Davis is averaging 29.4 points per game this season. There are not many players who can rival Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry on a Basketball court but Davis has the potential to even surpass them. The 25-year-old is an MVP in making.
Jrue Holiday –
More of a senior pro in New Orleans Pelicans’ roster, the 28-year-old is averaging in the 20s this seaosn, his best efforts till date.
