In this Regular Season tussle, the Golden State Warriors will tackle the threat of Denver Nuggets.

The Warriors began their title defense in an imposing manner, defeating a lackluster Lakers 123-109. It was all the same, Stephen Curry nabbed 33 points while the supporting cast did more than enough to sustain his effort.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Warriors: Scintillating start

As expected, the loaded Warriors team razed the Lakers like they are some lower-ranked team. As it happens most, the Warriors blew the game wide open in the third quarter, outscoring the Lakers 32-19, converting a halftime 7-point lead to 20 before the fourth quarter opened. Jordan Poole had an uncharacteristic struggle as he shot 4/15.

The Warriors’ pace was relentless in the last game as they took an unbelievable 99 shots and earned 23 trips to the free-throw line. This was a superb start to their season as they are a squad that has been known to start strong. They had 31 assists that came at the cost of 18 turnovers, but overall, the ball was moving as it should for the team that is blessed with both shooters and drivers.

Nuggets: What a terrible start

The Nuggets’ loss came against a team that has low expectations. They gave away 75 points in first half, which is unacceptable at this level. Trailing by 22 in the first half, the Nuggets did make it a 14-point game before the fourth quarter, but stood no chance in the end. This type of defense will not cut it for the Nuggets at this level.

They just had 5 triples compared to 16 by the Jazz. They were outrebounded 43-35 while having 21 assists for 21 turnovers, which won’t get it done on most nights. The backcourt of Murray, Caldwell-Pope, and Hyland shot 8/24 which won’t get it done either on most nights. Aaron Gordon stole the show while Jokic was his usual dominant self. Maybe, this game is just an exception.

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks

Nikola Jokic(DEN)
Points: 27
Rebounds: 04
Assists: 06
Steals: 03
Nikola has led the Nuggets’ effort for years now and had a 12/17 shooting night and there are not many players who can stop his charge as a scorer, rebounder, and playmaker. I believe he will be in 25+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ assists range. Jokic can be chosen as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBA Fantasy scenario.

Steph Curry(GSW)
Points: 33
Rebounds: 06
Assists: 07
Steals: 04
Blocks: 01
Curry was on fire in the last game and did most of his damage within the arc while being a decisive player on the defensive, rebounding, and playmaking end. I expect a 27+ points, 5-8 assists, and 1-3 steals range.

Jamal Murray(DEN)
Points: 12
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 01
Steals: 02

Guard Murray is still a bit rusty after a long injury pause and the injury management will render his status QUESTIONABLE here. He is a superb scorer and if he plays, I expect a 13-19 points range here.

Andrew Wiggins(GSW)
Points: 20
Rebounds: 06
Assists: 04
Blocks: 01
Steals: 01

Wiggins has become a spectacular two-way wing and as has been the routine, he was efficient in the last game, making 50%+ shots. I believe he will be in 17-24 points, 4-7 rebounds, and 1-3 blocks/steals range.

Jordan Poole(GSW)
Points: 12
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 07
Steals: 02

Poole is a brilliant scoring guard who is developing at an exciting rate, but his last game was an anamoly as he shot just 4/15. I believe he will be in 17-24 points and 4-7 assists range.

Aaron Gordon(DEN)
Points: 22
Rebounds: 10
Assists: 02
Blocks: 01
Steals: 01

Aaron had a wonderful start to the season, picking up four offensive rebounds and shooting 10/17, however, he usually doesn’t string together these high-yielding nights. I expect a 13-19 points and 6-10 rebounds range.

Klay Thompson(GSW)
Points: 18
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 03
Steals: 01

Klay is hunting for his first full season in three years and did his usual stuff in the last game, making six of his 13 shots. I believe he will be in 15-22 points range here.

GSW vs DEN DREAM11 LINEUP BALANCERS

  • Draymond Green(GSW): Green had 4 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists in the last game. Green is an all-around Forward who is an elite defender. I expect a 6-10 points, 6-10 rebounds, and 6-9 assists range.
  • Donte DiVincenzo(GSW): Donte had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal in the last game. Guard Donte is a great hustle player. I believe he will be in 6-11 points range here.
  • Michael Porter Jr.(DEN): Michael had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal in the last game. Porter Jr. is an electric defender who can fill the lanes, making five of his ten shots in the last game. I believe he will be in 14-19 points and 5-9 rebounds range.
  • James Wiseman(GSW): James had 8 points, 7 rebounds in the last game. James is a strong inside player on both ends. I expect a 10-14 points and 7-11 rebounds range.
  • JaMychal Green(GSW): Green had 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal in the last game. JaMychal is a strong bench player. I expect a 6-10 points and 5-8 rebounds range.
  • Bruce Brown(DEN): Brown had 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist in the last game.is a significant contributor on both ends. Will Brown be able to get a 20-25 minutes role consistently? I expect a 9-14 points, 3-5 rebounds, and 1-2 steals range.
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope(DEN): Caldwell-Pope had 2 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block in the last game. Kentavious is a superb defender but his offense can be a bit inconsistent. I expect a 7-12 points range here.
  • Bones Hyland(DEN): Hyland had 10 points, 3 assists, 1 block in the last game. Bones can be a strong supportive Guard and can end up starting here if Murray is rested. I expect a 11-16 points and 4-6 assists range.
