DET vs GSW DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Detroit Pistons will be playing host to defending champions Golden State Warriors in an NBA match at Little Caesars Arena, in Detroit, Michigan, on Sunday morning (IST).
Detroit Pistons:
Before this match, Detroit Pistons will be playing another home game against Chicago Bulls. As far as their form is concerned, they are on a three-game streak, beating Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, and New York Knicks in those matches.
Detroit missed out on the playoffs last season by four games as they finished 9th in the Eastern Conference. While this, as things stand, it looks as if they can finally break into the top-8.
Golden State Warriors:
An early indicator where the NBA may be heading this season? Maybe not. Maybe it was just a normal regular season game which may or may not have any deadly effect whatsoever on the final standings.
But there were moments in the match which revealed that it could be a battle, a future one, destined to be fought between two conference giants, or it’s just an exaggeration of the proceedings because the normal game-time couldn’t separate the teams.
The Dubs, bereft of the services of a one-star warrior who was out injured, headed to the East to face a team on a six-game winning streak and boasting about the best winning percentage across both the conferences.
The first quarter went to Raptors who won it 38-25, second by Warriors (29-33), and the hosts went to the break with a nine-point lead.
Kevin Durant was at his marauding best as he finished with both game-high and his season-best 51 points in the match.
The extra time may not have been needed, or it seemed when Kyle Lowry scored a three-pointer to put his team up 119-113 with just 55 seconds remaining in the normal time.
But the former Oklahoma City Thunder star, who has produced enough moments which may become the talk of NBA folklore, buried two back-to-back 3s to force the game into the extra time.
Regular Season Record-
Detroit Pistons: W-11, L-7
Golden State Warriors: W-15, L-8
Players to watch out for:
Detroit Pistons:
Blake Griffin – For a team which was predicted to struggle this season, and never considered good enough to be in the reckoning for the playoffs, is 4th in the Eastern Conference and that’s down to Blake Griffin’s heroics this season.
The 29-year-old forward is averaging 25.1 points-per-game this season and remains the only Pistons’ player to average in the 20s.
Andre Drummond – He is having a very good season by his own standard, scoring nearly 5 points per game more than what he has managed in his career. It’s his contribution to other departments which makes him an indispensable part of this squad. The 25-year-old is dropping 16 rebounds per game this season.
Golden State Warriors:
Kevin Durant – The two-time NBA finals MVP scored a magnificent 51 points in the last match. He is in the form of his life, as this was the first time in his career that he has scored in the 40s and more in three consecutive games.
If you are looking for a star for your NBA fantasy team, look no further than Durant.
Klay Thompson – He has been magnificent, to say the least since Stephen Curry was ruled out due to an injury. The 28-year-old star is racking up good numbers in the last 8 games or so, taking his season average to 22.9 points per game.
DET vs GSW DREAM11 TEAM NEWS:
